New leaks could give us a glimpse into the next generationiPhoneNow that we’ve had a look at the product line, we’ve got a new leak related to the iPhone 17 Air: a photo of a screen protector designed specifically for Apple’s iPhone 17 series. At first glance, there’s nothing special about these images—until you get to the one of the iPhone 17 Air.

The image shows that the front cameras of iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are all located on the right side of Smart Island. However, the iPhone 17 Air’s selfie camera is on the left side.
The images were shared by well-known leaker Majin Bu, who believes that the new component positioning can "enhance the video calling and selfie experience."
One questionable claim in the post is that the shift will provide users with "new perspectives and different ways to interact." But that's not the case because the difference in angle of incidence is very, very small.
Realistically speaking, if Apple did move the camera to the left side of Smart Island instead of the right side, it would be a more pragmatic reason. If the iPhone 17 Air is as slim as we expect - less than 6mm thick - then the camera will likely need to be moved to accommodate other modules.
Recently, we encountered another leak of the iPhone 17 Air - this time it was inadvertently leaked by Apple itself. A wallpaper spotted in iOS 26 may have leaked the device's screen resolution and dimensions.
