Statcounter's November 2023 report is now available on the official website, revealing the latest details of the market share of different Windows versions. The report shows that Windows 11 is still growing steadily, although the growth in November 2023 will be much smaller compared with October 2023. Statcounter said that Windows 11 is currently installed on 26.66% of Windows computers (a month-on-month increase of 0.49 percentage points).

On the other hand, the user loss of Windows 10 is obvious, from 69.31% in October 2023 to 68% in November 2023. Currently, the share of Windows 10 users is the same as it was a year ago, a month before Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7. After January 2023, the market share of Windows 10 suddenly increased, and as more and more users upgraded their computers to Windows 11, its market share slowly declined during 2023.

Windows 7 still occupies about 3.16% of the market share, and its users seem indifferent to the fact that Microsoft no longer provides security updates and other critical patches. The market share of Windows 8.1 is 1.34%, and that of Windows XP is 0.45%.

Market share chart of different Windows versions from November 2022 to November 2023

Windows 10: 68% (-1.31 percentage points)

Windows11: 26.66% (+0.49 percentage points)

Windows7: 3.16% (+0.15 percentage points)

Windows8.11.34% (+0.61 percentage points)

WindowsXP0.46% (+0.13 percentage points)

A recent report revealed that Windows 11 is now installed on more than 400 million monthly active computers, exceeding Microsoft's initial expectations. More than 400 million Windows 11 devices and more than 1 billion Windows 10 machines line up with Statcounter's estimates, giving users and developers a more or less precise breakdown of the Windows market.
