China Railway announced,As of June 25, 2025, the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway has operated a total of 29,778 passenger trains, carried more than 10 million passengers, and operated safely for more than 4.63 million kilometers.The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway connects the Indonesian capital Jakarta and the famous tourist city Bandung. The total length of the line is 142.3 kilometers and the maximum operating speed is 350 kilometers per hour.
It will be officially put into operation on October 17, 2023. The travel time between the two places has been shortened from more than 3 hours to 46 minutes, marking Indonesia's entry into the high-speed rail era., is also China’s first high-speed railway to go overseas, using Chinese technology and Chinese standards throughout the line.
Currently, the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway's daily operation of multiple trains has increased from 14 at the beginning to the current 62. The number of passenger seats has increased from more than 8,400 to more than 37,000. The maximum number of passengers sent in a single day is 25,000, and the passenger occupancy rate of a single train is as high as 99.64%.
China has also strengthened the training of Indonesian employees to help them become familiar with equipment, facilities and operating procedures through theoretical training, simulated operations and "teacher-apprentice" methods.
Currently, 600 trainees have completed qualification training, and 263 trainees have obtained certification from the Indonesian Ministry of Transport (MOT).Among them, 34 EMU drivers have achieved independent driving under the on-site guidance of Chinese personnel., 20 train emergency guards and 20 station comprehensive controllers have taken up their posts independently.
