According to the Southern Metropolis Daily, Luckin Coffee sued the Thai Royal 50R Group for trademark infringement and ended in defeat. On December 1, Thailand’s Central Tribunal for Intellectual Property and International Trade announced its verdict in the final trial of the case in which China’s Luckin Coffee Company sued Thailand’s Royal 50R Group (50Rgroup) for trademark infringement. It is reported that the Royal Thai 50R Group is a Thai local enterprise engaged in diversified management of retail, new energy, tourism, real estate, catering and other industries. It has a background of the Thai royal family and the military government. The Luckin brand trademark owned by its subsidiary, Thailand Luckin Coffee Co., Ltd., is legally registered with the Thai Department of Commerce. It has developed and operated more than a dozen Luckin coffee shops in Thailand.
As early as the beginning of 2022, some netizens said that they drank Luckin in Thailand. Except for the copywriting in Thai, the other visual designs were almost replicas of Luckin. If you don't look carefully, you won't notice that the antlers have flipped. In August 2022, Luckin Coffee issued a statement saying:Thai holiday! Luckin Coffee has not opened a store in Thailand. Luckin stores in Thailand are counterfeit stores.
