U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to release an artificial intelligence (AI) policy guide that advocates loosening regulations, expanding energy sources for data centers and urging Congress to consider federal legislation to regulate the emerging technology before states do.

The White House administration is expected to release an "Artificial Intelligence Action Plan" in the coming days, following this year's call for a comprehensive framework of measures to accelerate the development of AI in the United States. By then, Trump is expected to sign multiple executive orders to implement some of the policies outlined in the plan.

The policy guidance will focus on communicating policy positions and be limited to executive branch actions rather than providing a comprehensive outlook on the long-term impact of artificial intelligence, people familiar with the matter said.

Trump is scheduled to deliver a speech on AI policy on July 23 at an event hosted by the podcast "All-In" and the technology alliance organization Hill and Valley Forum. White House AI advisor David Sacks is one of the hosts of "All In."
