Sony has been having a troubled time recently. After the sales of its flagship mobile phone Xperia 1 VII were suspended in many places around the world due to crash issues,Its new WH-1000XM6 headphones have another "broken shaft" problem. Although it still seems to be an isolated case, it has caused concern among users.
Sony launched the WH-1000XM6 headphones in May and won unanimous praise from users for its excellent noise reduction capabilities and sound quality performance.
However, recently, the "broken shaft" problem of this headset has appeared on the Internet, casting a shadow over this popular headset. Currently, two netizens (from Xiaohongshu and Reddit) have complained about the broken shaft of the newly purchased WH-1000XM6 headphones.

They all said that when they were using the headphones normally, the earmuffs suddenly fell off. It was suspected that the plastic parts in the shaft structure broke, causing the metal hinges to be unable to be fixed, and the entire earmuffs to be disconnected directly.
According to the photos provided by netizens, the damage to the two earphones was similar. The metal shaft itself was intact, and the damaged part may be the plastic part in the slot, which caused the shaft to come out of the earmuff holder.

It is still unclear whether this is caused by a structural design flaw or other reasons, and it is still an individual case. Sony has not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
If consumers encounter a similar situation, it is recommended to contact customer service for help. It is worth noting that the previous generation WH-1000XM5 was also complained by some users that the shaft was easily damaged.
