Vehicles are modified without authorization in order to improve the riding experience, but this creates serious traffic safety hazards. Ping An Lhasa issued a statement saying that recently, during the "Comprehensive Traffic Order Improvement Operation", the Traffic Police Detachment of the Lhasa Public Security Bureau seized two cases of illegal modification of vans with air seats within one day, eliminating road safety risks in a timely manner.

On the morning of July 13, the police from the Chengbei Brigade were on duty at the Civil Aviation Administration section when they discovered a white van suspected of illegal modification. The police immediately signaled it to pull over for verification. After opening the door, it was discovered that the seats in the car had been replaced with airline seats without authorization.

Coincidentally, on the afternoon of the same day, the Chengxi Brigade captured the illegal warning information of another van of the same model through the inspection and control system. After notifying the person involved, Ji, to come to the team for processing, it was confirmed that the vehicle also had the illegal act of privately modifying aviation seats.

After investigation,Drivers Wu and Ji are both owners of ordinary passenger buses. In order to improve the comfort of passengers, they privately modified the vehicle seats.

However, this type of modification seriously violates vehicle design standards and changes the stress distribution of the vehicle structure. It may not only affect the vehicle's braking balance, but also increase the risk of casualties due to unstable seat fixation in the event of a collision, posing a great safety hazard.

According to the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, the traffic police issued corresponding penalties to the two drivers for their illegal modifications and ordered them to restore the vehicles to their original condition within a time limit.
