UniGetUI((formerly WinGetUI)Is a quite popular Windows package manager. It basically combines the command line interfaces of package managers like Chocolatey, pip, npm, etc. into an intuitive GUI. The project is released on GitHub under an MIT license and has nearly 17,000 stars and 547 forks, as well as a sizable following.

Today, UniGetUI released version 3.3.0. It is worth noting that this version was originally planned to be version 3.2.1, but due to the huge version update log and the changes exceeded the original plan, the developers decided to upgrade it directly to version 3.3.0.

Highlights of the latest version include the option to batch download installers, a selection of package manager executables, default installation options for each package manager, and cloud backup and recovery capabilities. Additionally, more commands are now supported and users can kill processes before installing, uninstalling or updating packages. Additionally, there are many other features. PowerShell7 now clears old versions when updating, the search box has been moved to improve space utilization, the toolbar has been enhanced, internal error detection has been upgraded, and some dialog boxes have been updated.

There are a ton of other backend changes, including the note that XAML and YAML files can no longer be created due to low usage - developers say these formats are only used by 0.7-1.3% of all bundles, making it difficult to maintain the development overhead required to manage them.

As expected, the very active UniGetUI community also contributed numerous fixes. You can find full details in the changelog here.
