On July 18, a Delta Air Lines 767-400ER (N836MH) flight DL446 took off from Los Angeles to Atlanta. Shortly after takeoff, a fire broke out at the bottom of the left engine. After discovering the fire, the pilot returned to Los Angeles Airport.

According to reports, the Boeing 767 passenger plane carried 9 crew members and 226 passengers. The plane landed safely after returning. There was no open flame after the plane landed. The plane taxied to the boarding gate on its own, and all airport personnel disembarked normally.

An investigation is currently underway and the cause of the fire has not yet been announced. Passengers have been rescheduled by the airline to continue their previous itinerary.

It is worth noting that on July 12, an engine fire occurred on a WestJet Boeing 737 MAX 8 passenger plane parked at Vancouver International Airport.

At the time of the incident, the plane landed at Vancouver Airport from Tampa, Florida, USA.There were still about 50 passengers on board at the time, and the crew used inflatable evacuation slides to move them to safety. No one was injured.

Subsequently, the open flames on the plane were extinguished by airport firefighters, and the plane was sent for maintenance. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
