Recently, CCTV's "Face to Face" column conducted an exclusive interview with Jen-Hsun Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA in the United States.NVIDIA was born because Huang Renxun seized a wave of opportunities brought by computer technology.

Jen-Hsun Huang was born in Taiwan in 1963. He moved to Thailand with his family when he was 5 years old. He left Thailand and came to the United States when he was 10 years old. After receiving a master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University, he founded Nvidia in 1993.

In 1999, NVIDIA invented the GPU, making real-time programmable shading technology possible, which also defined modern computer graphics and later revolutionary parallel computing.

Before NVIDIA promoted the popularization of large-scale parallel computing on GPUs, mainstream computing architecture mainly relied on the CPU-based serial computing model.

At that time, many companies tried to develop parallel computing architectures, but they all failed. The start-up NVIDIA insisted on focusing on the field of parallel computing. In the end, GPU became the foundation of NVIDIA.

Today, Nvidia has become one of the most mainstream AI companies in this era. On July 9, NVIDIA's market value exceeded the US$4 trillion mark, becoming the world's first company with a market value exceeding US$4 trillion.

Recently, when communicating with the Chinese media, Huang Renxun stated that he was first Chinese, and later became a Chinese American, and said that China will be very successful in the field of AI.

"First, I was Chinese, then I became American Chinese. And I happen to be working in semiconductors and researching artificial intelligence, but as you know, there are many Chinese people who are excellent in the field of artificial intelligence."

Huang Renxun said frankly that China now has a lot of talents. Because it has a culture that values science and mathematics, it already has the foundation for the development of computer science. And computer science and software are very important to artificial intelligence, so it's a really good fit.

Moreover, the development of science and technology happens to be in this era, and China is indeed fully prepared for this.

"I think China is going to be very successful," Huang said.
