The world's first 80,000-ton sea-opening breeding vessel "Senhai Pioneer", modified and built by Dalian Shipbuilding and Shandong Shipbuilding Industry Corporation of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, was officially delivered in Qinhuangdao City recently.The ship has a total length of 224.9 meters, a molded width of 32.2 meters, and a molded depth of 18.5 meters. It is equipped with 7 breeding cabins, has a breeding water body of nearly 80,000 cubic meters, has a capacity of 30 people, and has been classified by the China Classification Society.
The "Senhai Pioneer" was converted from a Panamax bulk carrier. Under the premise of ensuring sufficient buoyancy and structural strength, the renovation project opened holes on the side and bottom of the ship to realize the natural connection between the aquaculture water body and the ocean, and carried out intelligent upgrades.
The modified hull structural strength is close to the level of the original ocean-going transport ship. It has the characteristics of a large-scale ocean-going ship and the natural water exchange ability of the cage. It can withstand winds and waves of level 17 and has a designed service life of not less than 20 years.
As the world's first sea-opening breeding work vessel that has officially received full classification certification from China Classification Society, it has significant advantages such as mature and reliable equipment and technology, low cost and good benefits, strong adaptability to deep sea environments, and multiple expandable functions.
The ship was invested and constructed by Senhai Muge (Zhejiang) Marine Technology Co., Ltd., organized and implemented by the CSSC Sea Breeding Work Vessel Special Office, and jointly designed by China Ship Research and Design Center, CSSC 714th Research Institute and other units.
"Senhai Pioneer" innovatively adopts five distinctive breeding models: "ship-based cabin breeding, land-sea relay, cruising and transition, three-dimensional breeding, and smart factoryization". This model can not only realize cross-border and north-south breeding according to demand, effectively avoid natural disasters such as typhoons, red tides, pests and diseases, and accurately locate the most suitable water environment for the growth of cultured species; it can also create a high-quality breeding environment that is closer to nature through the free exchange of water bodies inside and outside the breeding cabin, significantly improve the quality of fish, and provide consumers with higher-quality seafood.
The ship has excellent self-sustainability at sea and can reserve supplies for up to half a year, significantly reducing the frequency of supplies and operating costs, ensuring continuous and stable operations in deep seas far away from land.
Its excellent wind and wave resistance can effectively reduce the sloshing effect of ships, minimize the stress response of fish, create a stable and comfortable growth environment for fish, and ensure healthy growth.
At this stage, the "Senhai Pioneer" plans to carry out high-end cold-water fish farming with Atlantic salmon as the main breeding species. The operation plan is to breed on the coast of my country for 6 months of the year and for the other 6 months on the high seas of the Far East. This move will effectively promote the localization of Atlantic salmon marine aquaculture.
It is expected that after delivery, the ship's annual production capacity will reach 2,000 tons of Atlantic salmon and other high-end cold-water fish, with an output value of over 120 million yuan.By then, domestic seawater Atlantic salmon will be widely supplied to the Yangtze River Delta and Hong Kong regions, and exported to international markets such as Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, providing domestic and foreign consumers with high-quality seafood.
