Previously, anyone who wanted to buy Apple products in Saudi Arabia had to go through an Apple authorized reseller. Even so, the iPhone remains the best-selling smartphone in the region, with studies showing it holds nearly half of the market.

In addition to bringing online purchasing to Saudi Arabia, Apple plans to open multiple retail stores starting in 2026. One of the retail outlets will be the flagship store in Diriyah, a NESCO World Heritage site on the outskirts of the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh.

Apple CEO Tim Cook visited Saudi Arabia in December 2024, when the company first announced expansion plans. Cook said at the time that Apple was excited to expand into Saudi Arabia.
