ChatGPT users send 2.5 billion tips every day

OpenAI to AxiosRevealed, ChatGPT receives 2.5 billion tips every day from users around the world. About 330 million of those were from U.S. users, numbers that illustrate just how popular OpenAI’s flagship product is becoming.

Google's parent company, Alphabet, doesn't release daily search data, but recently revealed that Google receives 5 trillion search queries per year, averaging nearly 14 billion searches per day. Independent researchers have found similar trends.

Neil Patel of NP Digital estimates that Google receives 13.7 billion searches per day, while research from two digital marketing firms, SparkToro and Datos, puts the number at about 16.4 billion per day.

Still, ChatGPT’s growth rate is impressive. In December, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said users were sending more than 1 billion queries to ChatGPT every day. According to Altman, the company's search volume has more than doubled in about eight months.
