Tesla’s long-planned 1950s-inspired restaurant and drive-thru Supercharger station in Los AngelesIt is expected to be officially opened today, the company may build more such charging stations in the future.

The Tesla Diner allows users to charge their vehicles while enjoying comfort food like burgers, fries (in a box similar to Cybertrucks) and milkshakes. The restaurant is equipped with a giant screen that allows users to watch movie clips and other content while charging, and of course, users can obviously choose to watch it on Tesla's screen. Tesla’s Optimus robot was even spotted delivering popcorn during a recent trial operation.
Basically, this feels like a giant commercial for Tesla, and it might just be the first of many. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that if this restaurant "does well," the company will open more such restaurants in major cities and "at Supercharger stations on long-distance routes." The company's brand has taken a huge hit recently due to Musk's deteriorating relationship with President Trump and declining sales.
Musk first announced plans to build an "old-school drive-thru, skate and rock restaurant" at one of Tesla's new Supercharger stations in Los Angeles back in January 2018, with Tesla submitting permits shortly after. Since then, project progress has slowed significantly. Although Musk promised in 2023 that the restaurant would open "later this year," the restaurant's head chef wasn't announced until earlier this year.
