according toexistiOS 26Apple may be developing a sleep scoring feature for the Apple Watch, according to code discovered in . Hidden in the Health app code is an image of an Apple Watch with the number "84" written on it. The numbers are flanked by three bars that are the same color as some of the sleep stages that the Apple Watch can track. Orange might represent waking time, light blue might represent REM sleep, and dark blue might represent core sleep or deep sleep.

The watch graphic is surrounded by sleep-related icons that Apple uses in various places on iOS, including the moon and stars, "zzz," a bed, icons representing sleep stages, an alarm clock, and in one location, a thermometer.

Apple titled the image "Watch Focus Score," suggesting that this is indeed some kind of sleep-related score provided by the watch. With mindfulness as its name, it might be possible to predict your ability to work during the day based on how much sleep you got the night before.

Many health tracking devices offer sleep scoring, but Apple has yet to offer the feature in the Apple Watch. Apple Watch features sleep tracking that divides sleep into rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, core sleep (Core), and deep sleep (Deep), and Apple also provides time in bed and wake time metrics.

Based on the temperature icon, future sleep scores could consider multiple health metrics, similar to the Vitals option Apple introduced in watchOS 11.

We haven't seen any further signs of sleep scoring functionality, so this graph may be related to other features. It's also possible that this is just an option Apple plans to introduce in the watchOS 26 update, and we're just seeing some hints of it so far.
