On July 21, Tesla’s world’s first Supercharger Station Restaurant (Tesla Diner) officially opened. The restaurant is located at 7001 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles. It is reported that on the opening day, hundreds of consumers queued up 13 hours in advance. The dining + charging revenue in 6 hours reached US$47,000, which is 30% higher than the whole-day revenue of the nearby McDonald's.
The restaurant is inspired by the retro style of the 1950s, with a silver curved exterior designed to resemble a flying saucer and decorated with neon lights.
The restaurant has a two-story design, with the kitchen, bar and takeout area on the bottom floor; the outdoor bar and lounge area on the top floor, with a total of 200+ seats indoors and outdoors.
In addition to providing catering services, there is also a drive-in cinema.Equipped with two 13.72-meter-high LED screens and 80 V4 super charging piles, car owners can watch movies and charge at the same time.
Musk announced that if the Los Angeles store is successful, the model will be replicated on the global highway network and core cities. A 3,000-square-meter plot of land has been reserved next to the Shanghai Pudong Super Factory. It will open around the Spring Festival in 2026, and the pricing may be 70% of that in the United States.
