According to media reports,A netizen bought poisonous mushrooms online.Recently, a Ms. Zhu from Luzhou, Sichuan, spent 9.48 yuan on an online platform at the end of June to purchase the so-called "chicken fir fungus". Only about 10 days after planting it at home, "Gallinarum" grew.

However, when she and her husband ate the fungi, they were unfortunately poisoned and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Doctors determined that what the two people ate was the poisonous mushroom Aphrodisiac.

When Ms. Zhu’s son wanted to defend his rights, he found that the store involved had removed the products, and the customer service only agreed to provide a refund. The platform was only willing to compensate 200 yuan, and no one has been responsible for the medical expenses so far.

What is even more worrying is that there are still a large number of "chicken fir fungus" on sale across the Internet, with prices ranging from a few yuan to dozens of yuan. The highest sales volume exceeded 8,500 orders, and customer service said it was "edible."

Experts pointed out that the symbiosis of Galliae fungi relies on termite nests, and artificial cultivation is still a problem. Production licenses for Galliae fungi have not yet been issued nationwide.

Experts also emphasized that most of the so-called chicken fir fungi sold online are fake and carry extremely high risks. These fakes may be other strains of bacteria or contain toxic spores, which may cause severe poisoning or even death if ingested.

In this regard, lawyers said that if the merchant is suspected of false advertising, consumers can claim losses, and the platform will also be held responsible if it fails to fulfill its review obligations.
