According to reports from South Korea, Nintendo Switch 2 may use an OLED display produced by Samsung. This new report published by news website ChosunBiz reveals how Nintendo is negotiating with Samsung Display Company to supply next-generation OLED panels for various IT equipment. Those talks began only recently, around December 1, and were almost forced into action amid accusations that display maker BOE had possession of Samsung OLED trade secrets.

While we've received conflicting information about what kind of panel the Nintendo Switch 2 will feature, today's news seems to more credibly confirm rumors of two different launch SKUs, which could include a cheaper model with an LCD panel and an expensive model with a better OLED panel.

Since it hasn't been officially announced yet, it's hard to say when the Nintendo Switch 2 will finally be released. While everything seems to be pointing to a late 2024 release, there's a chance the console could launch earlier than expected, as reliable tech leaker Ravengus said today.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa said earlier this year that the time between system launch and official release wouldn't be too long, so the leaker's early 2024 window may make sense.

Nintendo Switch2 has not been officially released yet. We will update as soon as more news about this console becomes available.
