On July 24, the Shanghai Economic Investigation Corps officially issued a document disclosing the details of the arrest of Han Liu, the former CEO and logistics director of Ele.me, on suspicion of job-related crimes. The details are as follows: Recently, the Shanghai police obtained clues from corporate reports through the enterprise protection workstation, followed the clues to investigate, and successfully solved a case of commercial bribery accepted by an executive of an Internet company in Shanghai, and arrested 7 suspects in bribery and bribery, with the amount involved reaching more than 40 million yuan.

In May of this year, an Internet company in this city discovered through self-examination that the company’s former vice president, Han, and others used their authority to help suppliers obtain high-quality distribution areas and accepted bribes during their tenure, so they reported the case to the police through the “Blue Whale” enterprise protection workstation.

After receiving the report, the Economic Investigation Corps of the Municipal Bureau quickly conducted an inspection and visit based on the company's reporting materials. It was determined that the behavior of Han and others was suspected of economic crimes, and the case was immediately launched for investigation.

After investigation, since July 2023, Han and three other people have colluded with each other and used their powers to manage the logistics and distribution business and determine supplier admission, removal, evaluation, and subsidy issuance to help many suppliers obtain logistics and distribution business qualifications in dozens of large and medium-sized cities. They used this to collect bribes from the supplier Liu and four other people, and even required suppliers to share in proportion based on profits. In less than 2 years, three suspects including Han received more than 40 million yuan in bribes from suppliers more than 30 times.

During the investigation, the police found that among the suppliers who paid bribes to or were asked for bribes by Han, some of them had failed to meet the standards and hoped to retain their supplier qualifications through bribes; some paid bribes to improve their business conditions, hoping to gain more attention. Faced with the different needs of suppliers, Han and others will also use their power to tilt relevant business resources to bribers, providing suppliers with more business conveniences that exceed the operating rules of the platform, which in turn facilitates the three people to further make money.

The police also discovered that Han and others used extremely covert methods of accepting bribes. In the process of frequently accepting banquets from suppliers, they collected huge sums of money. In order to cover up the public's eyes, the three people also scattered the stolen money and stolen goods in multiple rented houses.
