On August 1, the Hong Kong Exchange announced that Zhang Yong, managing partner of Morning One Fund and former chairman of the board of directors of Alibaba Group, was appointed as the latest member of the China Business Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Exchange. After Zhang Yong joins, the number of committee members will increase to 9.
In August 2007, Zhang Yong joined Alibaba Group as the chief financial officer of Taobao. After that, he took over Taobao Mall and created a new model to empower global brands based on Alibaba's original business model. He also planned the first "Double Eleven Shopping Carnival" for Taobao Mall. On June 26, 2025, Alibaba’s 2025 fiscal year annual report disclosed that Zhang Yong had withdrawn from Alibaba’s partners.
