Nintendo updated its financial report for the first quarter of this year today (August 1), which includes first-month sales of Nintendo’s latest console Switch 2, game sales and many other information.

Among them, Nintendo’s sales in the first quarter were 572.363 billion yen (a year-on-year increase of 132.1%, approximately RMB 27 billion), and net profit was 96.032 billion yen (a year-on-year increase of 18.6%, approximately RMB 4.5 billion). As of June 30, a total of 5.82 million Nintendo Switch 2 consoles have been sold, and a total of 8.67 million copies of games have been launched on the console. Among them, the sales volume of "Mario Kart: World" (including bundles), which is the escort game for Switch 2, reached 5.63 million copies.

It is worth mentioning that in the first month of sales of Switch 2, 1.27 million were sold in Japan, 2.08 million in the United States, and 1.34 million in Europe. Sales in other regions (Asia, Latin America and Oceania including China) were 1.13 million, accounting for 20% of the total sales. The first-generation Nintendo Switch console sold 980,000 units in the last quarter.

Today, the sales momentum of Switch 2 is still unabated. Seven weeks after its release, its sales have exceeded 6 million. In the financial report, Nintendo’s expected sales of Switch 2 are 15 million units.
