Gurman cites September 9 or 10 as the most likely date, lending credence to the German operator's claims.

Following Apple’s traditional model, iPhone 17 pre-orders will begin on the Friday following launch, which is September 12. The new device will most likely reach customers and retail stores on Friday, September 19th. The launch will cover major markets such as the United States, China, Europe and Japan.
This year's event is expected to launch the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air (replacing the Plus model), iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple's new flagship smartphone lineup may also be accompanied by the release of Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and possibly AirPods Pro 3.
Apple typically sends out press invites a week before major events, meaning confirmation could come as early as Tuesday, September 2.
