Various recent actions by Sony suggest that it plans to port more game works to other platforms. The gaming giant is advancing a platform-centric strategy, indicating that it will pay more attention to the release of third-party games. Existing insiders have revealed details, claiming that the launch speed of PC ports of Sony's first-party games will be significantly accelerated.
Well-known whistleblower Detective Seeds quoted sources from Sony's porting studio Nixxes Software as saying that Sony plans to significantly advance the release of the PC version of PlayStation exclusive games to six months after the release of the console version. If this strategy is true, it means that works such as "Death Stranding 2" may be released on PC before the end of 2025.

The pace is in stark contrast to Sony's past, which typically involved waiting two to three years before porting its biggest hits to PC. However, Spider-Man 2, launched last year, has broken the old mold, landing on the PC platform only about a year after being exclusive to PS5. Some players believe that this move may be a "test of the waters" by Sony; although the commercial performance of the game on Steam has not reached the expected height, it may have established a new benchmark for rapid porting in the future.
The content also speculates that Sony may return to a more conservative pace if it transplants games to the Xbox platform in the future. Referring to the case of "Bad Boys 2", which was about a year and a half from its launch on PS5/PC to its launch on Xbox, future PlayStation works may be ported to Xbox in a similar cycle. As Sony continues to introduce major IPs to the PC platform, the launch speed of PC versions of works such as "Ghost of Mount Yotei" and "Death Stranding 2" will become the focus of the industry.

However, it is worth noting that although the leaked information has a certain degree of credibility, it is recommended to be cautious about the "six-month transplant cycle" before Sony officially confirms it.
