Sitting on $133 billion in cash, Apple has plenty of money to hire an army of lawyers who have launched a barrage of lawsuits against individuals and companies, including Jon Prosser, who was sued over his role in leaking leaked information about iOS 26. But he was unmoved and released another video today detailing the design and other details of the iPhone 17 Pro.
The latest speculation explored in the video is that an upgraded four-prism periscope zoom lens could appear on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Perhaps the most notable change on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max is the camera bar, which takes up a large portion of the back of both flagship phones. But Apple may be launching this aesthetic revamp more than just to lure future buyers and let them know they're getting a new device. According to Prosser, based on speculation from anonymous outsiders, the camera bar exists to make room for larger camera sensors and their corresponding hardware.
As we all know, Apple launched the iPhone 16 Pro last year and equipped it with a four-prism periscope zoom lens. This is also the first non-exclusive feature of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. However, if Apple wants to keep up with its competitors, it needs to go further. While further details have yet to be confirmed, Prosser believes the camera strip will remain, allowing for a larger periscope zoom lens or a larger sensor to be added to the top, bringing various imaging benefits.
iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will also be equipped with a 48-megapixel telephoto camera and a 48-megapixel main sensor to enhance the photography and videography experience.
