New regulations for power banks are about to be implemented and must have 3C certification before they can be put on the market

In order to strengthen the mandatory product certification management of mobile power supplies, lithium-ion batteries and battery packs,The National Certification and Accreditation Administration has formulated the "Compulsory Product Certification Implementation Rules for Mobile Power Sources, Lithium-ion Batteries and Battery Packs (Trial)". The new rules will be implemented from August 15, 2025, which is two days later.

The new rules state:

-Relevant designated certification agencies should formulate corresponding certification implementation details in accordance with the requirements of the new version of the rules and the general implementation rules for compulsory product certification, and register with the National Certification and Accreditation Administration before implementing certification and issuing certification certificates in accordance with the new version of the rules.

- Valid compulsory product certification certificates that have been issued before can continue to be used. The conversion of certification certificates is completed through natural transition methods such as expiration of certificates, product changes, and standard version changes.

Compulsory product certification, also known as "3C certification", is a compulsory market access system implemented in accordance with the law in my country to protect the personal safety of consumers, national security and the environment.

According to national regulations, power banks that are officially on the market must obtain 3C compulsory certification.

Recently, many brands of power bank manufacturers have recalled multiple batches of products due to safety risks in their batteries. Certification agencies have also revoked or suspended the 3C certifications of many power bank and battery manufacturers in accordance with the law.

It should be noted that pirated versions of the 3C certification mark will also appear. The official has released an identification guide:

-Observe the 3C certification mark from the front facing the light. The mark has a white base plate and a black pattern.

- Observe the logo screen with your eyes, and look through the diamond shape of the 3C certification logo. The logo screen has a profound three-dimensional feeling and a sense of reality.

-If there is no three-dimensional effect, it can be judged to be a counterfeit logo.
