Earlier this week, Microsoft released two new versions of Windows 11, which also brought updates to the screenshot tool and added a window mode screen recording function, allowing users to record only an application instead of the entire screen.

besides,Microsoft is also developing a "Live Annotation" function for the screenshot tool, allowing users to write or draw on screenshots more conveniently.

After selecting the area to be captured, users can use a variety of tools on the screen in real time, such as brushes, arrows, etc., to mark the image content.

The current annotation function is only available after the screenshot is completed. With the real-time annotation function, Microsoft hopes to change this situation and allow users to highlight certain content while taking the screenshot.

Users can press the Win + Shift + S shortcut keys to bring up the pop-up menu of the screenshot tool, and click the corresponding button to start the real-time annotation function.

In addition to the annotation function, the app will also allow users to use Bing to search highlighted areas or ask Copilot for related content. Currently, these features are still in the development stage and most features have not yet been enabled, so users need to wait for Microsoft to officially announce it.
