Huaneng Shidaowan High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor Nuclear Power Plant completed the 168-hour continuous operation test and was officially put into commercial operation.This is a landmark achievement of a major national science and technology project with completely independent intellectual property rights in my country. It is also the world's first fourth-generation nuclear power plant, marking that my country has reached the world's leading level in the field of fourth-generation nuclear power technology.
According to reports,The nuclear power plant is led by China Huaneng and jointly constructed by Tsinghua University and CNNC.Construction started in December 2012 and will be connected to the grid for the first time in December 2021.
This time it was officially put into production and transferred to commercial operation at a stable electric power level.
It is understood that around 2000, China, the United States and other countries determined six types of nuclear reactor shapes based on safety, economy, anti-nuclear proliferation capabilities, and multiple uses (heating, seawater desalination), which were eventually designated as fourth-generation reactors.
Generation IV reactors include:High-temperature gas-cooled reactor, supercritical water-cooled reactor, molten salt reactor, gas-cooled fast reactor, sodium-cooled fast reactor, lead-cooled fast reactor.
