AMD recently disclosed the source code of FSR4 online, which made some players happy because users of RX 7000 series graphics cards may also use FSR4. However, AMD's official statement means that this is a joy in vain.
In response to speculation that FSR4 is open source, AMD officially stated that some development code was mistakenly posted on GPUOepn's Github and has now been removed.

AMD's response to this matter is simple,I just think that the opening of the FSR4 library file this time was a mistake. Now the error has been corrected and the source file has been deleted.
However, the controversy over this matter in the community is not over yet. Netizens all know that as long as the source code is open on the Internet, it cannot be completely deleted. The source code disclosed by AMD has been forked, and these are under the MIT protocol and can theoretically be used.
However, it is not easy for third parties to use FSR4 on non-RDNA4 architecture graphics cards. It's unlikely to be possible without AMD's support, but AMD clearly has no plans to decentralize FSR4.
Whether they are graphics card players or community members, they obviously hope that AMD's FSR4 will remain open as before and allow more people to use it. However, the reality is that manufacturers will only become more and more conservative in this regard. NVIDIA's DLSS has always been closed source. Intel's XeSS promised to be open source but did not put it into action. AMD was open before FSR4, but FSR4 should take a different path.
