Recently, at the "Special Sharing Event on Frontier Fields of Life and Health" held at the Medical Expo,Chinese scientists used the world's first "isolated brain conservation technology" to successfully "resurrect" an isolated pig brain that had been "dead" for 50 minutes.According to reports, the study first stopped the pig's heart and then separated its brain from the body.
Fifty minutes later, the researchers connected the isolated brain to the extracorporeal life support equipment through intubations to form a life system to support brain recovery.
The results show,The pig's brain was successfully "rescued", able to restore brain function and maintain vitality for a certain period of time. Based on animal welfare principles, the research team voluntarily terminated the experiment after 6 hours.
It is reported that this equipment adopts the "isolated brain maintenance technology" independently developed by the team. It not only contains artificial heart and artificial lung components, but also uses normal temperature blood perfusion technology to maintain a living pig liver, providing fresh, aerobic, and metabolically stable blood circulation for the isolated pig brain connected to the equipment.
