According to TH reports,NVIDIA has submitted a B30 chip to the U.S. government for permission to export to China.Earlier, Trump said: "I may make an agreement on a Blackwell processor with "slightly enhanced performance."In other words, performance is reduced by 30% to 50% (compared to the standard version of Blackwell)."
The United States banned the sale of H20 in mid-April, causing NVIDIA to lose $5.5 billion. However, about three months later, the United States reversed that decision and issued an export license, allowing the company to resume sales in China on the condition that it obtain 15% of sales there.
However, Chinese state media issued warnings that H20 was unsafe and outdated.
"When a chip is neither environmentally friendly, advanced, nor safe, as consumers, of course we can choose not to buy it.""Yuyuan Tantian", a new media affiliated to China Central Radio and Television Station, wrote.
According to previous news, the new chip is tentatively named B30A and will adopt a single-die design with about half the performance of B300. A single-chip design means that all major circuits are fabricated on the same continuous silicon wafer, rather than being spread across multiple chips.
The new chip will be equipped with HBM high-bandwidth memory and NVLink technology to achieve high-speed data transmission between processors.
Sources said that the final specifications of the chip have not yet been fully finalized, but NVIDIA hopes to provide samples to Chinese customers for testing as soon as next month.
