Since the release of Nintendo Switch 2 nearly two months ago, this game console does have a lot to like. Mario Kart: World and Boomstick are addictive, and the graphics enhancements take already polished games to the next level. However, this console is not without its shortcomings. For example, the problem of game cartridge keys continues to trouble users, and there seems to be no solution.
Now, players who first purchased the Switch 2 are experiencing first-hand its abysmal battery life - especially when the console is set to "sleep" mode.

In the Nintendo Switch section on Reddit, "Switch 2 sleep mode consumes a lot of power" became a hot topic, with complaints about battery life filling the screen.

Players specifically pointed out that the console will lose power at an alarming rate in "sleep mode", making the function of quickly resuming games useless. "I have the same problem," one user replied. "Auto-updates are turned off, airplane mode is always on, no games are running, but the battery is exhausted after three days."
Another player wrote: "I haven't used it since I charged it last week. I took it out of the drawer last night to play on tomorrow's flight and found that it was completely out of battery! How outrageous!" Usually this situation would be blamed on a device failure, but given that a large number of users have encountered the same situation, this is more like a flaw at the system level that needs to be upgraded and fixed.
"This is completely unacceptable," some players said, "I regret buying the NS2 as a first-time purchase. This is one of the two main reasons. The other is that some games are not compatible with resolution settings."
Discussion forums are filled with similar complaints. Although a complete shutdown can indeed solve the problem, it can never really solve the battery life problem.
