The days of waiting for "Grand Theft Auto 6" have spanned several years. As the gaming community looks forward to this game that may become the most blockbuster game in history, some news will surface every once in a while. The latest clue comes from a discovery on the GTA forums by data miner Tez2, who may have stumbled upon some very interesting developments regarding the world-building of GTA 6. This is completely in line with the series and Rockstar's consistent brand tone.

Tez2 said it had discovered some "domain names suspected to be related to "GTA 6", which were registered under the name of Take-Two's servers a few months ago." Registered domain names include: what-up.app (learn from WhatsApp), rydeme.app (mocking Uber/Lyft), buckme.app, leonidagov.org (official website of Leonidas government), hookers-galore.com (call girl directory), and myboyhasacreepycorndog.com (my son’s corn dogs are scary), etc. Players have deciphered the satirical objects corresponding to these domain names: what-up.app parodies the instant messaging software WhatsApp, and rydeme.app pokes fun at ride-hailing platforms such as Uber.

"These may be in-game website domain names, and Rockstar may redirect them to the "GTA6" page later," Tez2 said. "Of course, some domain names may be completely unrelated."

The "GTA" series has always been good at using funny names to poke fun at real things, such as Sprunk (parodying Sprite), Lampardati (parodying Lamborghini), etc. This domain name registration incident shows that the game is expected to maintain its trademark sense of humor, rather than diluting the satirical elements for fear of being "boycotted" or criticized by public opinion.
