Recently, several college students rented a Tesla Model 3 from a car rental company in Xi'an and found that there was no driving recorder USB flash drive in the car.
After asking customer service, the other party said that it was to protect privacy. Since it was a rental vehicle, several students purchased one at their own expense and installed it in the car for safety reasons, and it became the key.
During the rental period, the customer service called and said that the vehicle's GPS was offline and asked the college student for the specific location of the vehicle. They sent someone to check and confirm that it was safe. They also said that they would put something in the car and upgrade the vehicle.
The students agreed and provided their location, and after the rental company placed the GPS, they deliberately changed the parking space.
As a result, when using the car the next day, it was discovered that there were still serious scratches on the rear of the vehicle. The student thought that he had accidentally scratched it. However, after checking the USB flash drive video, he found that someone deliberately scratched the vehicle in the dark, and this person happened to be an employee of the car rental company.
The students called the police, and the police quickly identified the suspect and summoned him. However, the person who scratched the vehicle insisted that he had drunk too much and was unclear.
Since the college students had travel plans that day, the two parties finally reached an agreement, in which the car rental company refunded the remaining rent and the suspect compensated for mental losses and car rental fees.
In fact, similar methods are not new. Car rental companies will maliciously charge for car rentals in order to earn illegal income. I would like to remind everyone to choose a large company with a good reputation to rent a car, place the car in a place where it can be monitored, and check carefully before driving every day after parking.
