At the Xiaomi Pascal OS experience communication meeting held tonight,Xiaomi officially released the "Xiaomi Pascal OS Technical White Paper" (hereinafter referred to as the "White Paper").The "White Paper" elaborates on the core technology of Xiaomi ThePaper OS, including the technical architecture and key technology introduction of each subsystem.
Xiaomi said:"We hope that by sharing these technical achievements and insights, we can inspire more creativity and cooperation, promote the progress of the entire industry, and jointly build a future of "full ecology for people, cars, and homes."
It is understood that the "White Paper" has been launched on the official website of Xiaomi ThePaper OS.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said in the preface of the "White Paper" that in 2016, Xiaomi began to develop a cross-terminal application framework. In 2019, it began to develop a purely self-developed general system MinaOS in parallel, and verified it in small-scale mass production on some products. At the same time, it has also been successfully run on mobile phones in the laboratory, and some of its technical achievements have also been integrated into Xiaomi's ThePaper OS.
Lei Jun said that in 2021, Xiaomi started the research and development of car OS. In early 2022, Xiaomi decided to unify the software architecture of the four systems of MIUI, Vela, Mina, and car OS. Since then, the bottom layer of Xiaomi's operating system has been merged.
"With a R&D team of more than 5,000 people, and after two years of polishing, Xiaomi's ThePaper OS came into being, and the 'full ecology of people, cars, and families' began," Lei Jun said.
According to the "White Paper", Xiaomi's ThePaper OS is a system designed for the next generation of computing and multiple device ecosystems.
Solutions are mainly provided for the following key challenges:
Equipment diversity
In the current digital world, various operating systems and technology standards make devices highly fragmented. Xiaomi's Thermal OS aims to provide a consistent platform to better unify and integrate all devices from mobile phones to IoT devices.
Interaction between devices
Most traditional operating systems are not designed for multi-device interaction. Xiaomi's ThePaper OS focuses on smooth interaction between devices to ensure efficient cross-device cooperation.
Simplification of development process
Through Xiaomi Pascal OS, developers can write unified code for different devices, eliminating the complexity of developing cross-device applications.
Enhance safety and security
Xiaomi ThePaper OS builds high-security TEEOS (EAL5+) and other security features to reduce potential risks and improve the overall security level of the system.
Efficient performance deployment
Xiaomi's ThePaper OS has been designed with the performance and resource requirements of various devices in mind, especially in scenarios with limited resources.
Encourage ecological development
In order to attract more developers to participate and promote ecological construction, Xiaomi's core components of ThePaper OS have chosen the path of open source.
Xiaomi's ThePaper OS provides comprehensive solutions to challenges such as device diversity, interaction between devices, development processes, system security, performance deployment and ecological development.
