Microsoft recently launched Windows 11 Canary Build 27938 to preview users. This version brings many new features and improvements, including adding AI operation options to the Explorer menu, which can directly call AI to perform certain operations in the Explorer menu.

During this period, Microsoft is adjusting the time module of the Notification Center. In Windows 11, the Notification Center currently does not display the time (Windows 10 will display it). Now Microsoft also displays the time in the Windows 11 Notification Center, allowing users to see a larger time display after clicking on the Notification Center.

Explorer AI operations:

This function adds AI shortcut operations for some files. For example, for pictures, you can see Bing visual search, blur the background, erase objects, move out of the background, etc. If it is a document type, you can see options such as summary documents and summary.

It should be noted that the resource manager only integrates menus rather than directly built-in these functions. When the user clicks on a specific operation item, he or she must jump to the corresponding application. For example, the function of removing the picture background calls the drawing application.

Notification center display time:

Microsoft has brought the option to display the time in the Windows 10 Notification Center back to Windows 11. When users click on the Notification Center, they can see a larger time instead of the smaller time displayed in the taskbar tray area.

By default, Microsoft will not display the time in the Notification Center. Users need to turn on the switch to display the time in the Notification Center in Settings, Time and Language, Date and Time.

Other changes and improvements:

Settings Application: In the Settings, Privacy and Security, Text and Image Generation modules, you can see which applications have recently called the generative AI model provided by Windows. Users can also use the model here, that is, allow or disable other applications to call the AI model.

Reset Recovery: Fixed an issue where system reset and recovery functions did not work in Windows 11 Build 27934 and other versions.

Explorer: Fixed an issue in Dark Mode where the red color of disks with insufficient space left in Explorer might unexpectedly become lighter, and other colors might also be incorrect, such as remaining space showing black instead of a more prominent color.

Explorer: Fixed an issue where Explorer unexpectedly did not include thumbnails for video files with certain EXIF metadata.

WMI: Improved performance improvements related to WMI registry scanning.

Lock screen interface: Solve the problem of blank icon appearing in the login option in some cases.

Search function: Optimize the search function to reduce the problem of being stuck in the loading state when searching.

Other fixes: Resolved an issue where some preview users might get stuck when viewing the performance section of Task Manager.

Other fixes: Addressed an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL green screen of death that occurred for some preview users when entering safe mode.

Other fixes: Resolved CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED green screen of death experienced by some preview users.

Known issues:

Some users may experience audio stopping issues and multiple yellow exclamation marks appearing in Device Manager. If this happens, right-click the device with the exclamation mark and select Update driver, Browse my computer for drivers, or Let me choose from a list of drivers available on my computer.

Then select the most recent driver in the list and click Next to fix it, but please note: if it's another common hardware type that's causing the error, rather than one or more specific driver issues, it means the device isn't related to the issue.
