Tesla launches Megapack 3 and Megablock as it updates its range of energy storage products. Unveiling the two products at the "Las Megas" event in Las Vegas on Monday, the company said its upgraded Megapack 3 uses a "dramatically simplified hot hatch with 78 percent fewer connections" and said it would be produced in Houston by the end of 2026.

Tesla, on the other hand, says the Megablock connects four Megapack 3 batteries with a megavolt transformer and switchgear, making installation 23 percent faster and saving 40 percent in construction costs.
The company also revealed that Megablock will have an installed density of 248 megawatt hours per acre and promises a "25-year service life and 1 million cycles with 91% round-trip efficiency at medium pressure."
Tesla recently announced a $4.3 billion agreement with South Korean battery manufacturer LG New Energy, which will supply LFP batteries to Tesla starting in August 2027.
Meanwhile, Tesla also unveiled the fourth part of its "Grand Plan," the company's roadmap for its plans to shift the electric car giant's focus toward artificial intelligence and robotics. Musk predicts that 80% of Tesla’s future value will come from the Optimus Prime humanoid robot.
