Microsoft's Xbox cloud gaming service currently supports multiple platforms including PCs, game consoles and mobile devices. Now, this service is being further expanded to the vehicle field through the cooperation between Microsoft and LG. Earlier this year, Xbox cloud gaming just landed on LG’s smart TVs.

Christopher Lee, vice president of marketing for Xbox, said in a statement today: "Our cooperation with LG Electronics will allow the Xbox experience to be integrated into some connected cars, giving users new ways to play Xbox games in more scenarios."

Microsoft uses the webOS Automotive Content Platform (ACP) independently developed by LG to introduce Xbox cloud gaming services into cars that support Internet-connected functions. By then, passengers only need to open the Xbox application through the in-car infotainment system, log in to a Microsoft account and have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, and then they can play various games directly through the cloud. The specific launch date has not yet been announced.

Microsoft added: "Our cooperation with LG is Xbox's latest move to expand into new areas. Previously, Xbox cloud games have entered mobile devices, PCs and TVs through cooperation. This time we extend the service to cars, allowing players to have more diverse gaming methods and choices."

It should be noted that players need to be equipped with a Bluetooth controller (such as an Xbox wireless controller) to connect to the car system, so that they can play various games through the cloud.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to the games in the Game Pass membership library, Ultimate users can also use this function to play some of the games they have purchased, such as "Mafia: Old Country" or "P's Lie". In addition, Xbox cloud games are being tested to be opened to users of more Game Pass levels (such as Core and Standard).
