YouTube has announced that it will be rolling out multi-language audio tracks to millions of creators around the world in the coming weeks. This new feature allows video creators to upload multiple voiceovers for the same video, allowing a global audience to watch the content in their preferred language.

According to YouTube, no matter where the creator is, the newly launched videos can be experienced by fans as far away as South Korea, Brazil, and India in their native language for the first time. This change greatly improves the accessibility and impact of video.

When users watch a video that supports multiple audio tracks, they only need to click the gear button in the player and select the desired language in the "Audio Track" menu. YouTube has been testing this feature with some top creators since early 2023 and is now opening it up to more users.

It is worth mentioning that multi-audio tracks are not a new thing. They have been widely used in the DVD and Blu-ray era, but the YouTube platform does not have a limit on the number of audio tracks. The pilot project shows that the videos of well-known creator Mark Rober support an average of 30 languages, and MrBeast and Jamie Oliver also participated in the test.

YouTube data shows that videos with multi-language audio tracks account for more than 25% of the viewing time of non-main language audiences, bringing significant benefits to expanding international audiences. For example, a well-known chef's channel significantly increased its views due to its multi-audio track feature.

In addition, YouTube has also begun testing multi-lingual thumbnails with some creators, supporting the display of localized cover images according to the language selected by the user to further enhance user experience and globalization.
