According to reports,AMD has quietly launched its new A620A chipset, and the two major motherboard manufacturers Asus and Gigabyte have taken the lead in listing related products on their official websites. As a continuation of the A620, it brings a more economical and affordable choice for entry-level users.

These motherboards use the AMD A620A chipset, which uses the same Promontory 19 chip as the B550 and is very close in functionality to the A620.

The main difference between the two is the connection speed between the chipset and the processor. The A620 supports PCIe 4.0 x4, while the A620A only supports PCIe 3.0 x4.

While connection speeds are reduced, in day-to-day use the difference won't be noticeable unless a large number of devices are connected to the chipset.

In addition, like the A620, the A620A chipset provides 8 PCIe 3.0 lanes, but the A620A has a new independent SATA lane that does not need to be shared with the PCIe lane, so it has more powerful expansion capabilities.

AMD originally planned to officially release this entry-level A620A chipset on September 11, but Uniko's Hardware pointed out that ASUS and Gigabyte have already put related products on the shelves in advance.
