Google has launched a number of new features for Gmail ahead of the holiday shopping season, aiming to simplify the package tracking process and help users discover relevant offers and special offers. Gmail adds a new "Shopping" view that consolidates all shopping orders and delivery updates into a single page. Google says this gives users a "bird's-eye view of all upcoming packages, listed in a simple and orderly manner."

This feature builds on Gmail's existing email summary cards, which provide a concise display of a package's shipping status. On the summary card page, users can click the "Allow" button at the bottom to enable optional order tracking. When enabled, the Gmail card will integrate dynamic updates from the courier company.

In addition, Gmail will continue to display reminders of packages that will be delivered within 24 hours at the top of the inbox, allowing users to grasp important information as soon as possible. Users can enter the "Shopping" view on the left menu to check all shopping and parcel-related emails in one place. This feature is currently being rolled out to Android, iOS and web Gmail users globally.

The update also includes an upgrade to Gmail’s Offers tab, which automatically filters and displays emails related to promotions, offers, special offers, and subscription information. Google is about to add two new sorting methods to the Offers tab: Most Relevant and Latest. After checking the "Most Relevant" option, emails from brand merchants that users frequently interact with will be ranked higher. The other sorting is basically consistent with the current time order.

It is worth noting that Gmail will also recommend “super-value offers selected for you” in the form of cards at the top of the “Offers” tab to help users quickly discover potential business opportunities. These updates will be available to all Google account users in the coming weeks, covering Android, iOS and web platforms.
