The iPhone 17 series will officially go on sale tomorrow, and Apple and the supply chain have begun to shift their focus to the next generation iPhone 18 series, and have even started sampling. As usual, the iPhone 18 series will start shipping some parts in two months. This kind of advanced planning is also the reason why Apple breaks the news very early every year.
According to reports, Apple has now informed its supply chain partners. The target shipment volume of the iPhone 18 series in 2026 is approximately 95 million units, an increase of approximately 11.76% compared to 85 million units of the iPhone 17 series (including Air) in 2025.

According to the report, the core driver of this shipment growth is the new foldable mobile phone iPhone Fold.
Apple believes that the "halo effect" of the foldable model will drive some consumers to upgrade, even if they end up choosing a traditional straight model.
The iPhone 18 series will have some changes compared to this year. There are five products in the series, including iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Air 2, and the much-anticipated first folding screen-iPhone Fold.

Previously, JPMorgan Chase analyzed that Apple will price the folding screen at US$1,999, which is approximately 14,343 yuan.
The whole machine adopts a clamshell design similar to the Galaxy Z Fold series and a dual-screen solution.
The inner screen is 7.76 inches, with a resolution of 2713×1922, using a no-hole design, and equipped with an under-screen front camera; the outer screen is 5.49 inches, with a resolution of 2088×1422, using a hole-punch screen solution.

The machine will use new technology to make the screen almost invisible, which is also a technology that Apple has been vigorously promoting in recent years.
In addition, it also has a titanium body, a durable liquid metal hinge, two rear cameras, and will use Touch ID fingerprint recognition technology instead of the facial recognition (Face ID) technology currently used in iPhones.
