On September 16, the People's Court of Daxing District, Beijing issued a judgment on the case of Ms. Zhang v. Tesla Auto Sales and Service (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and others over a sales contract dispute: it determined that Tesla, as an operator, should protect consumers' right to know.He was ordered to provide Ms. Zhang with complete driving data for the thirty minutes before the accident.

Ms. Zhang said that today’s verdict proves that Tesla violated the administrative order of the State Administration for Market Regulation four years ago and provided incomplete data. I wonder if there are any punishments for car companies that blatantly violate state administrative orders? Or can Tesla really do whatever it wants?

A few days ago, Ms. Zhang said in an interview, "The verdict of the case can be said to be the first in the industry. The court recognized the legitimate rights and interests of (smart car) consumers. It is very meaningful to get the verdict."

Ms. Zhang also revealed that she has joined several smart car rights protection owner groups. There are about 200 people in each group, and none of them can get the complete data of their own vehicles. When the news of the victory in the first instance came, the rights protection group was boiling, and everyone was very excited.

Among so many people, her case is currently the only one that has been recognized by the court. It believes that the data Tesla previously provided to consumers is incomplete and confirms that consumers have the right to obtain complete driving data.

Later, after she obtains the complete driving data at the time of the incident, she will use the data as a basis to apply for judicial identification of whether the Tesla vehicle involved in the incident had brake failure.

It is understood that Ms. Zhang is a female owner of the Tesla roof at the Shanghai Auto Show. Since her father was involved in a rear-end collision in February 2021 while driving a Tesla, she hasTesla has continued to request complete driving data but has been repeatedly rejected. The traffic police determined that Ms. Zhang's father was fully responsible for the accident, but her family believed that the cause of the accident was brake failure.

During the Shanghai Auto Show on April 19, 2021, she climbed on the roof of the Tesla show car and shouted "Tesla brake failure", which attracted public attention. The Shanghai police sentenced Ms. Zhang to administrative detention for five days for disturbing public order.
