Meta Company today officially released the second generation (Gen 2) of the new Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. On the basis of continuing the classic appearance design, this product has made major upgrades to many core functions such as battery life and video shooting.

According to the official introduction, the new generation of Ray-Ban Meta glasses has increased the battery life on a single charge from 4 hours of the previous generation to 8 hours, and supports fast charging: the glasses can be charged to 50% in 20 minutes. The matching charging box can also bring an additional 48 hours of use time to the glasses, greatly improving the continuous use experience in outdoor and travel scenarios.

In terms of functions, Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 introduces the 3K ultra-high-definition video shooting function for the first time, which can record wide-angle HDR video at up to 60 frames per second, which is twice the resolution of the previous generation. At the same time, Meta announced that it will add time-lapse photography and slow-motion recording through firmware upgrade later this year, allowing users to shoot in more diverse and interesting ways.

At the software level, Meta plans to launch a number of new features for first- and second-generation products at the same time. For example, the new "Conversation Focus" function can enhance the recognition and transmission experience of the other party's voice when communicating with the other party through open speakers. The "real-time translation" function now supports German and Portuguese, and will also support offline translation in the future. Just download the required language pack in advance.

The new glasses also offer a variety of styles and color options such as Wayfarer, Skyler and Headliner, priced starting at US$379, covering most countries where they are already on the market, and are planned to be introduced to the Mexican and Indian markets this fall.

In summary, Meta hopes that through longer battery life, stronger video capabilities, and rich software upgrades, the Ray-Ban Meta series will continue to maintain its top spot in global AI smart glasses sales.
