PayPal recently announced that it will reach a multi-year strategic partnership with Google to jointly develop a new AI-driven shopping experience with the help of Google's artificial intelligence technology. At the same time, PayPal's multiple payment solutions will also be fully integrated into Google's major products, and the two parties will also cooperate in the hosting and optimization of technical infrastructure.

It is reported that the two parties did not disclose the specific types of intelligent agent shopping scenarios they will create, but said that Google will provide artificial intelligence-related technology and professional capabilities, and PayPal will rely on its global payment network, personalization and identity authentication solutions. The two parties will also work with other companies in the industry to promote the popularization and application of Google's latest Agent Payments Protocol.

This open protocol is designed to allow users to initiate shopping through AI intelligent agents. Currently, more than 60 merchants and financial institutions support this protocol.

According to the cooperation agreement, PayPal will become an important service provider for mainstream bank card payments in areas such as Google Cloud, Google Ads and Google Play. Google will also integrate products such as PayPal branded checkout, Hyperwallet instant transfer service, and PayPal batch payments into its own ecosystem.

This in-depth cooperation marks that technology giants and payment giants are joining hands to accelerate the arrival of new trends in smart consumption and agent-driven payments with AI as the core.
