Today, according to an official announcement issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation, Xiaomi Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. decided to recall some of its electric vehicle products. This recall involves more than 110,000 Xiaomi SU7 standard models. The reason for the recall is that its L2 high-speed pilot assisted driving function has potential safety hazards.
Different from traditional physical recalls that require car owners to drive their vehicles back to authorized service centers, this time Xiaomi Motors has adopted a more convenient car remote upgrade (OTA) form to solve this problem. Xiaomi Motors responded that although this is a software-level upgrade, the company adheres to the primary principle of user safety, strictly follows relevant national laws and regulations, and conducts management and filing in accordance with recall procedures, which reflects its high responsibility for product safety.
According to further instructions released by Xiaomi, the affected vehicles are limited to some Xiaomi SU7 standard models produced before August 30, 2025. Other versions, such as the Pro version and the Max version, are not affected by this recall. Car owners only need to upgrade the car system software to Xiaomi HyperOS 1.10.0 or higher to complete all operations of this recall without replacing any hardware.
The core content of this OTA software upgrade is to optimize and enhance the reliability of assisted driving functions. Specific upgrade points include improving the speed control strategy of assisted driving and adding a dynamic speed function. These adjustments are designed to make the vehicle drive more smoothly and coherently when the high-speed pilot assist function is enabled, thereby improving the overall driving experience and safety. Xiaomi Motors emphasized that it will continue to pursue higher safety standards for users and is committed to creating higher-quality automotive products.
