On September 19, China Automotive Collision Repair Technology Research Center and Joyson Electronics launched battery ejection technology.According to reports, this technology can eject the battery from the car body within one second to achieve separation of vehicle electricity when the battery thermally runs out of control. The mechanism for ejecting the car body uses the same gas generator as the car airbag as the ejection power, and throws the battery out of the safe area 3-6 meters away from the car body.

The demonstration video showed that with a loud bang, the power battery popped out from under the vehicle chassis and was thrown several meters away from the passenger side.

The video also aroused heated discussion among netizens. Some netizens said, "Electric vehicle battery fires will be very violent. After the battery pops out, it becomes a source of fire and can easily ignite vehicles or buildings on the roadside."

"The impact thrown by this battery alone is very severe. If it hits pedestrians or non-motorized vehicles on the side of the road, the safety risks will also be huge."

However, some netizens expressed their support for this technology, "What is shown in the video is only a technical verification solution. If it is subsequently installed in the car, it can use body cameras, radar and other sensors to detect whether there are pedestrians or vehicles around the car body, and then decide whether to eject it, which can avoid the secondary risk of battery ejection."
