On Monday local time, Disney, which owns ABC, said that "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" (also translated as "Chicken Feather Show") will resume broadcasting on Tuesday.

"Last Wednesday, we made the decision to pause production on the show to avoid further inflaming tensions during an emotional time for our country," Disney said in a statement. "We made this decision because we felt some of the comments were inappropriate and therefore insensitive. We have had thoughtful discussions with Jimmy in recent days, and as a result of those discussions, we have decided to resume the show on Tuesday."

Last week, Jimmy Kimmel was suspended from the air for commenting on the assassination of Charlie Kirk on air, sparking a huge controversy in American public opinion. Some criticized this as Trump's latest move to control the media.

Hollywood heavyweights such as comedian Ben Stiller and "Star Wars" star Mark Hamill expressed joy at Kimmel's return on social media, as did politicians such as California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Andrew Kolvet, a spokesman for Turning Point USA, a conservative group founded by Kirk, wrote that Disney and ABC had "caved in" and allowed Kimmel to "return to the show. It's not surprising, but it was their mistake."
