Epic Games continues to roll out new Fortnite experiences announced at the Big Bang Live event, furthering its plans to turn the battle game into a metaverse. Yesterday it was Rocket Racing’s turn.
"Rocket Racing" was developed by "Rocket League" studio Psyonix. It is basically similar to its predecessor, but without the football gimmick, it just uses pure arcade racing as its main selling point.
Facts have proved that the game was very popular on the first day, with the highest number of people online at the same time exceeding 500,000. This is on par with the popularity of the "zero build" mode, and definitely not bad for a "game within a game."
Survival crafting experience LEGO Fortnite had a strong performance on Day 2, peaking at 2.3 million concurrent gamers like Day 1, and hovering between 2.2 million and 2.3 million during prime time.
A third "game within a game" is still set to launch later today, Harmonix's Fortnite Music Festival, a game that could rely on its Rock Band and Guitar Hero pedigree and big-name stars like Lady Gaga or the Weeknd to attract music fans.
