Apple's next batch of M3Macs may be launched in March, especially the new MacBook Air. It is very likely that we are not far away, but it may still be a long time until MacStudio and MacPro equipped with M3 chips are launched.

Apple launched the M3 version of the 24-inch iMac, 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro at the end of October, kicking off the M3 era with the debut of three chip variants. Attention now turns to the rest of the lineup and when they will all move to the current chip generation.

In Bloomberg's "PowerOn" newsletter on Sunday, Mark Gurman believes that the next product launch will include a new MacBook Air. The updated versions are code-named J613 and J615. Apart from specification upgrades, there will not be much changes.

The 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air M3 are expected to be available around March, mainly for M1 and Intel Mac users, rather than upgrades for M2 users. Since the 15-inch MacBook Air M2 has been launched in June, the upgrade cycle may be too fast for these users.

The M3 Air may also provide Apple with an opportunity to phase out the M1 MacBook Air from its catalog and instead make the M2 version a new low-end model.

The last area of the Mac ecosystem that needs updating will be the high-end models, specifically the MacStudio and MacPro. However, they "could not be upgraded until late 2024 or even 2025 at the earliest," Gurman wrote.
