On October 11, local time,Headquarters reporterIt was learned that three air traffic control facilities of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) experienced manpower shortages that night. The three facilities are airspace control centers in New York, Atlanta and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The FAA operational report shows that the New York Air Traffic Control Center issued a warning at 14:00 local time that day, the Atlanta airspace control personnel shortage period was from 16:30 to 20:30, and the Albuquerque center was short of manpower from 18:00 to 1:00 the next morning.

While some flights can be diverted to mitigate the impact, some may be forced to slow down to ensure safety. Because the government is still in a state of shutdown, air traffic controllers and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel are "essential positions" and need to continue working without pay.
